Sala Montjuic Film Festival

Has it really been 21 years that this wonderful fiesta of film has lighted up the lives of ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ residents? The formula is simple and sumptuous. You bring a picnic and a chilled bottle of Cava, the festival organisers throw on a concert, followed by a recent or cult film projected in front of the venerable fortress walls of Montjuic Castle.
Screenings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening from late June, through July and into to early August.
In 2024, films to be screened include Barbie, Oppenheimer, The Shining and Back to the Future.
While many of the films shown are from Hollywood, Spanish and world cinema often feature on the bill. In all cases, works are screened in the original language, with Spanish subtitles – something to bear in mind if you’re a monolinguist.
